Organizations enter any major improvement effort with varying levels of internal expertise and resources. We adapt our level of involvement to include only topics or activities for which a client genuinely requires help. We do not rigidly pursue a "canned" program which causes us to involve ourselves in areas where the client is already self-sufficient. Our consulting is "in proportion" to our client's needs and desires.
We enter client organizations with a sincere empathy for the demands of meeting daily business requirements while still driving major change. Because of our own operations management experience, we always strive to minimize disruption in our client's workplace without compromising success in the process.
Any new or revised process must ultimately be standardized through a detailed documentation of basic procedures and their related methods and responsibilities. We help our clients use this burdensome task as a positive opportunity for involving different functions and levels in creative problem-solving and coordination improvement. The results are better procedures than previously existed and greater commitment to living by them.
Our extensive operations experience makes us efficient and effective. This helps minimize the expense to you, our value-minded client. We provide economical in-house alternatives to expensive external training seminars and high-overhead consulting approaches. Dollar for dollar, we provide more hands-on assistance that the supposedly economical "we think, you do" programs offered by many universities and other publicly funded sources.
What differentiates McAllister Consulting is our breadth of hands-on operations experience, supporting technical and professional education, and mostly, our ability to work effectively with all levels of an organization. We have worked in and/or managed virtually every functional area: production, quality, engineering, materials, facilities, purchasing, accounting and general management. We have "walked in our client's shoes".
We provide a high level of on-going personal service. Our business has grown through close, continuing contact with existing clients, well beyond the initial engagement. We attempt to understand our client's business through their eyes, and can supplement in house expertise and manpower on a continuous or as needed basis.
Our Company

Our Chicago-based consulting practice began in 1991 helping a local firm achieve ISO 9000 registration.  Although we have diversified through the 90's, assisting clients with Standards registration has remained a mainstay. Starting with the ISO9000 series, we have developed expertise in QS 9000, TE 9000, ISO/TS 16949, AS 9100, ISO14000, ISO 17025 (Guide 25)  and related industry specific spin-offs.

We are a certified Women's Business Enterprise through the Women's Business Enterprise National Council.  Our certificate number is 253591, SIC code 8742 and NAICS code 541610.
 

True to our original "proportioned" approach, we enter each engagement on a customized, individualized basis.

We do not believe in "pre-fab" procedures or fill in the blank quality manuals. Each gap analysis, procedure, work instruction, coaching/training session, or readiness assessment activity is designed to meet the unique needs and specific operating environment of the client.

We develop low-maintenance, self-sustaining systems which enable our clients to pass registration on the first attempt and remain registered with minimal additional effort.

Our consulting practice  has assisted clients that range from privately held, family run operations to multi-billion dollar, foreign owned businesses.

While most clients are traditional manufacturers we also work with sales, engineering, technical support and other service related operations. These include clients in the automotive, aerospace, telecommunications and defense industries as well as FDA and FAA regulated businesses.

We guard the privacy of our clients. However, we will readily provide client references upon request and with the specific authorization of those clients.
